Fix: Try these in order:
kcad-errors.log, and crashes to kcad-crash.log. Both are in the settings folder: · Windows: %APPDATA%\Crusade\ (paste that into File Explorer's address bar) · Linux: ~/.config/Crusade/Why: the installer and every program file are signed, so Smart App Control should allow them. An antivirus can still quarantine a file by mistake.
Fix: make sure you downloaded from crusadecad.com. Restore the file from the antivirus quarantine and add Crusade's folder (%LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\Crusade) as an exception, then reinstall. Write to support with the antivirus name and its message so it can be reported as a false positive.
Why: it shouldn't. Crusade installs for your user only.
Fix: choose the installer's "for me only" option: Crusade goes into %LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\Crusade with no administrator password. Only "for all users" (Program Files) asks for one. If a company PC's policy blocks installers, ask your IT department.
install.sh says "this Linux has glibc 2.xx; Crusade needs 2.34 or newer".Why: your Linux is older than Crusade supports (older than Ubuntu 22.04, Debian 12 or Fedora 36).
Fix: upgrade the system to a supported release. There's no build for older ones.
install.sh says "Crusade needs libxcb-cursor", or Crusade won't start with a message about the "xcb" platform plugin. Why: Qt needs the libxcb-cursor library to draw windows on X11, and some systems don't have it.
Fix: install it, then start Crusade again:
sudo apt install libxcb-cursor0sudo dnf install xcb-util-cursorsudo pacman -S xcb-util-cursorsudo zypper install libxcb-cursor0./install.sh says "Permission denied".Why: the file lost its run permission (some unzip tools drop it).
Fix: sh install.sh, or chmod +x install.sh and then ./install.sh. Unpack with tar -xzf Crusade-<version>-linux-x86_64.tar.gz to keep permissions.
Why: the agreement needs a "y" answer.
Fix: run it again and type y at the question.
Fix:
crusade) and send support what it prints.kcad-errors.log / kcad-crash.log from the settings folder (section 0).Why: tiling desktops place new windows themselves.
Fix: Crusade waits for the desktop to place the window before showing it. If it still ends up tiled, maximize it once and close it: it reopens where and how big you left it.
Why: it was last used on a monitor that isn't connected now.
Fix: Crusade moves such windows to the main screen. If one is still out of reach, on Windows press Win+↑ to maximize it; on Linux use your desktop's maximize shortcut.
Why: the Windows installer's Open these with Crusade boxes decide that.
Fix: run the installer again and tick or untick the boxes, or right-click a file ▸ Open with ▸ Choose another app ▸ Always.
Fix: reinstall Crusade (it registers its file types). On Linux, run install.sh again.
Why: the text pasted isn't shaped like a key (part missing, extra characters).
Fix: copy the whole key again from the purchase email or Lemon Squeezy's My Orders page. Paste it rather than typing, and check that no spaces or line breaks came along.
Why: the store doesn't know the key: usually a typo or a partial copy.
Fix: copy it again from the email or the order page. If it's right and still not found, write to support with your order number.
Why: it's a key for another product sold on Lemon Squeezy.
Fix: use the key from your Crusade purchase email.
Why: the purchase was refunded or charged back, or the key was turned off.
Fix: if that's unexpected, write to support with your order number.
Why: a license covers 3 computers at once.
Fix: on a computer you no longer use, Help ▸ License ▸ Release This Computer…. A computer that broke or is gone: free its place from your order page at Lemon Squeezy (My Orders).
Why: no internet, or a firewall, proxy or company network blocks crusadecad.com.
Fix:
crusadecad.com (HTTPS).Why: the website or the store had a short problem.
Fix: wait a few minutes and try again. If it lasts more than an hour, write to support.
Why: something between you and the site changed the answer (a proxy, a captive Wi-Fi login page), or the site had a problem.
Fix: if you're on hotel or café Wi-Fi, open a browser and finish its login page first. Then try again later. If it keeps happening, write to support.
Why: it's activated already.
Fix: nothing to do. Help ▸ License shows the status.
Fix: Help ▸ License ▸ Release This Computer…, then activate with the new key.
Why: in Normal mode, Crusade needs a license check at least every 6 months. This reminder starts at 5 months.
Fix: connect to the internet and choose Help ▸ License ▸ Check Now. Or, for a computer that's rarely online, switch it to Offline mode (Switch to Offline Mode…).
Fix: connect to the internet and choose Help ▸ License ▸ Check Now. Editing unlocks straight away. Your files are untouched. Or switch to Offline mode.
Why: this computer's place was freed from the order page or by support (for example after it was reported lost).
Fix: activate it again with your key (Help ▸ License), if you have a free place.
Fix: open Help ▸ License to see the reason. Usually it's one of the 6-month, released or disabled messages above. Choose Check Now if it's online.
Why: releasing turns this computer into the free viewer, which can't save.
Fix: save (or close) those documents, then release.
Fix: check the internet connection and try again. The place isn't freed until the release is confirmed.
Fix: nothing to do. Help ▸ License shows the mode.
Why: Check Now, Switch mode or Release was chosen on a computer that isn't activated.
Fix: activate it first.
Help ▸ License ▸ No internet on this computer? shows a code like ABCD-EFGH-JKLM. On any phone or computer, open crusadecad.com/activate, enter the license key and that code, and download the license file. Copy it over (a USB stick) and choose Load License File….
Why: the file was made with another computer's code. A license file only works on its own computer.
Fix: make a new one at crusadecad.com/activate with the code shown on this computer.
Why: the wrong file was picked, or the download was cut short or changed.
Fix: download it again from crusadecad.com/activate and load that file, unchanged.
Fix: type the code exactly as Crusade shows it (letters and dashes, ABCD-EFGH-JKLM).
Why: the system clock was set back. Crusade goes by the later time.
Fix: set the computer's date and time correctly (automatic time is best).
Why: a fresh system can get a new system ID, so it looks like a new computer.
Fix: if the old place wasn't released first, free it from your order page at Lemon Squeezy (My Orders).
Why: releasing goes online from that computer, and an offline computer that's gone (or never online) can't.
Fix: free its place from your order page at Lemon Squeezy (My Orders). That computer never checks in, so it won't notice: don't use it with the license again.
Fix: it's in the purchase email from Lemon Squeezy and on their My Orders page. If you can't find either, write to support with the email you bought with.
Why: the file is missing, damaged or not a Crusade file; the text after the colon says which.
Fix: see the entries below for the common reasons.
Why: the file comes from a newer Crusade.
Fix: update Crusade (Home ▸ Update available, or the Download page).
Why: the file is damaged, was renamed from another type, or the wrong file was picked.
Fix: open the right file. If it's a damaged Crusade file, try an earlier version of it (File ▸ Version History… on a copy) or a backup.
Why: a part file that's damaged or not really a Crusade part is tried as a STEP file, so the message mentions STEP.
Fix: treat it as a damaged file (above). If it came by email or download, get it again: it may have been cut short.
Why: the file was moved, renamed or deleted since it was listed (for example on Home's recent list).
Fix: open it from its new place with File ▸ Open. Right-click a thumbnail on Home to remove it from the list.
Why: Crusade couldn't write the file: the folder is read-only, the disk is full, you don't have permission, the file is open in another program, or a cloud-sync folder has it locked.
Fix: File ▸ Save As to another folder (your Documents folder), free up disk space, or pause the cloud sync and try again.
Why: Auto Save starts after a document's first save.
Fix: save it once (Ctrl+S). From then on every change is saved automatically.
Why: the last automatic save didn't work (often the same reasons as Save failed).
Fix: press Ctrl+S to save by hand and see the reason. Auto Save resumes after that.
Why: nothing is saved while a sketch or a feature's panel is open.
Fix: finish (OK) or cancel the sketch or feature, and it saves.
Why: Crusade closed (crash, power cut) with unsaved work in an untitled part. A recovery copy is written every 2 minutes.
Fix: choose to recover it, then save it right away.
Why: the recovery copy itself was damaged.
Fix: the work since the last save is lost. Save new work once early on, so Auto Save covers it.
Fix: File ▸ Version History… lists every saved version. Open as Copy opens it in a new window without touching the file; Restore makes it current (what you had becomes a version first, and Undo brings it back).
Fix: save the document once. Versions start from then.
Fix: OK or Cancel the open sketch or feature, then try again.
Fix: give the next revision a new letter or number, or leave the suggested one.
Why: assemblies and drawings store where each part is, relative to themselves.
Fix: put the part back, or in the same folder as the assembly or drawing (Crusade looks for it there by name), or right-click the component ▸ Replace Part… and pick it. Next time, use Pack and Go (with new names) to move a project.
Why: the file has no solid shapes Crusade can read (only points, curves, drawings or empty data), or it is damaged.
Fix: export it again from the other program as a STEP AP214 or AP242 solid (not a surface-only or wireframe export). Crusade itself writes STEP AP214.
Why: IGES often carries separate surfaces. Crusade sews them into a solid where they close.
Fix: ask for a STEP file instead. STEP carries solids.
Why: STEP holds the shape, not the history. That's true of every CAD exchange.
Fix: use direct editing: Delete Face (remove a hole or fillet), Offset Face (thicker / thinner), Move Face (move a hole). Add sketches and features on top as usual.
Why: the file's units were written wrong by the program that made it, or a mesh (STL) has no units.
Fix: STL files don't say their units, so Crusade shows them in millimeters. For a STEP or IGES part, use Features ▸ Scale (25.4 or 1/25.4).
Why: STL has no units.
Fix: nothing wrong. If the model was made in inches, it will look 25.4 times too small.
Why: the STL or 3MF has holes in its surface.
Fix: repair the mesh in its original program or a mesh repair tool if you need exact values.
Why: the file is empty, damaged or another type with a .stl / .3mf name.
Fix: export it again from the program that made it.
Why: meshes open for viewing and measuring only.
Fix: ask for a STEP of the design, or remodel it. Sketch Picture can help to trace from a screenshot.
Fix: save the drawing as an ASCII DXF in its program (any DXF version), then import it.
Why: the DXF's geometry is in blocks, paper space, or is text or hatches only.
Fix: in the program that made it, explode the blocks and put the geometry in model space, then save the DXF again.
Why: blocks, text and hatches don't come into a sketch.
Fix: explode blocks before saving the DXF. Retype text with the sketch Text tool.
Fix: choose the right Drawing units in the import window (it reads them from the file when the file says).
Fix: open (or start) a sketch, then Import DXF.
Why: the outline isn't closed (a tiny gap between ends), or lines overlap.
Fix: zoom in on the corners and join them (drag an end point onto the other, or add Coincident), and delete doubled lines.
Fix: switch the lines you want out of construction (select them, press Q), then Export Sketch as DXF.
Fix: click the sketch in the feature tree, then Export Sketch as DXF.
Fix: Flat Pattern works on parts made with Sheet Metal ▸ Base Flange/Tab.
Fix: model a solid first, or show the hidden parts (right-click ▸ Show All Components) before exporting.
Why: the folder can't be written to, or the name has characters the system doesn't allow.
Fix: export to your Documents folder with a simple name.
Why: whoever sent the file chose not to allow exports. You can still look, measure, render and print.
Fix: ask the sender for a STEP or for permission.
Fix: update Crusade. DXF text now uses AutoCAD's codes (%%d, %%p, %%c), which that software reads.
Why: usually an old or generic graphics driver.
Fix:
Why: Render needs a graphics card and driver that can ray trace with OpenGL.
Fix: update the graphics driver. If the card can't do it, the normal view still works fully; only Render is unavailable.
Fix: Exit Sketch first, then Render.
Why: path tracing starts noisy and clears up pass by pass.
Fix: keep the view still. Raise the passes (Render panel ▸ Preview ▸ Passes) or use Save Render Image… at Good or Best quality.
Fix: save to another folder (your Pictures or Documents folder) with a simple name.
Why: that's on purpose: the wheel steps through the tabs.
Fix: move the mouse off the ribbon to zoom the view.
Fix: Tools ▸ Options ▸ General: reverse wheel zoom, wheel zoom speed, view rotation speed.
Why: the mouse style is set to Onshape (or SolidWorks).
Fix: Tools ▸ Options ▸ Mouse: SolidWorks (middle-drag turns, Ctrl+middle pans) or Onshape (middle-drag pans, right-drag turns).
Fix: Tools ▸ Options ▸ General ▸ View cube: Full cube, Small cube, Hidden or the Name bar.
Why: the default planes hide once you start sketching.
Fix: View ▸ Show Planes.
Fix: View ▸ Show Sketches. Right-click a sketch in the tree ▸ Show Sketch.
Why: a Selection Filter is on (the status bar says so).
Fix: View tab ▸ Selection Filter: turn off Faces / Edges / Vertices.
Fix: right-click ▸ Select Other lists everything under the cursor; hover to see each one, click to pick.
Why: it has no material.
Fix: right-click the part at the top of the tree ▸ Edit Material.
Fix:
Why: some geometry is very hard for the kernel.
Fix: wait. Risky operations stop by themselves with "The geometry kernel got stuck on this operation" (after about 3 minutes), and joining overlapping bodies gives up after 45 seconds. Then try other values (see section 6).
Why: an unexpected error inside Crusade.
Fix: save right away (Save As to a new name if you're unsure), restart Crusade, and send support the message with kcad-errors.log from the settings folder (section 0).
Why: on Windows, SpaceMouse isn't supported yet. On Linux, Crusade needs spacenavd. Fix (Linux): sudo apt install spacenavd libspnav0, then restart Crusade. Tools ▸ Options ▸ General shows whether the device was found.
Why: the kernel refused the shape. That's often a size that makes faces meet in an awkward way.
Fix: change the value a little, pick other references, or split the feature into two.
Why: the kernel crashed on this geometry. Crusade keeps running because those features (Fillet, Chamfer, Shell, Draft, Sweep, Loft, Scale, Thread) run in a separate process.
Fix: try other values or fewer edges at a time.
Why: an earlier edit removed or changed the face, edge or sketch this feature was built on.
Fix: edit the feature and pick the references again. For a sketch, right-click ▸ Edit Sketch Plane… to put it on a plane or face that still exists.
Fix: unsuppress that sketch or feature (right-click ▸ Unsuppress), or drag the rollback bar below it.
Why: the sketch's outline has a gap, an overlap, or a stray line.
Fix: open the sketch and look for a red or open end. Join the ends (Coincident), Trim overlaps, delete doubled lines. Or use Thin Feature for an open outline.
Fix: click the sketch in the tree (or in the view), then the feature.
Fix: check the sketch for lines that cross each other, or make the thin wall thinner.
Fix: make a boss before a cut. If a cut removed everything, flip its direction or make it shallower.
Why: the kernel got the combination wrong, even after Crusade retried it.
Fix: change the depth slightly so faces don't line up exactly with existing ones, or move the sketch a little.
Fix: Combine those bodies first (Bodies drop-down ▸ Combine), or keep the new material touching only one of them.
Fix: enter a value bigger than zero.
Why: Up To Surface / Up To Body stops at a face that's smaller than the sketch.
Fix: pick a bigger face, or use Blind or Up To Next.
Fix: flip the direction (Reverse direction), or use Blind or Through All.
Fix: pick the face, plane or vertex the extrusion should stop at, away from the sketch's plane.
Fix: change the end condition.
Fix: use Blind, and try a smaller draft angle (0° to 89°).
Fix: make the wall thinner, or round tight corners in the sketch.
Why: the sketch text's font isn't on this computer.
Fix: edit the text and choose an installed font.
Fix: add a centerline in the sketch for the axis, and keep the profile entirely on one side of it.
Fix: try a smaller size. The panel marks the edges that fail in red.
Fix: use a smaller size, or split the edges into two Fillet features.
Fix: remove the failing edges (red in the panel) or make them their own fillet with a smaller size.
Why: a constant-size round can't follow an edge that fades out (tangent at its end).
Fix: pick edges where the faces meet at an angle all the way along.
Why: the part isn't a closed solid there (often an imported surface model).
Fix: pick edges between two faces, or get a solid STEP of the part.
Fix: use Equal distance on that edge.
Fix: click the edges in the view while the Fillet / Chamfer panel is open.
Fix: a thinner wall, or remove small fillets before shelling and add them after.
Fix: hollow the part with cut features instead of Shell.
Fix: pick every face of what you're removing (all of a hole, a whole fillet), or fewer at a time.
Fix: a smaller distance, or pick the rounds next to the face too.
Fix: pick all the faces of the hole, pocket or boss, including its fillets.
Fix: pick a flat face with no holes, and try a smaller height.
Fix: pick a neutral plane square to the faces you're drafting, and a smaller angle.
Fix: scale the same in every direction, or scale per axis by smaller amounts.
Fix: draw the rib line across a corner or between walls; make it thinner, flip its direction, or move its sketch.
Fix: model a solid first; click the face where the hole goes; add points to the position sketch.
Fix: pick two or more sketches, each with one closed outline, on different planes. Profiles with similar numbers of sides loft best.
Fix: join the path's segments end to end; make the profile smaller than the path's tightest bend; sketch the profile on a plane square to the start of the path.
Fix: select a sketch with a circle; use fewer turns or a smaller taper.
Fix: pick the circular edge at the start of the hole or shaft, check Flip, shorten the length. A cosmetic thread always works and rebuilds instantly.
Fix: pattern the extrude, revolve or hole that made the shape, or use Mirror / Move/Copy Body.
Fix: increase the spacing or reduce the count.
Fix: reverse the direction, or fewer or closer copies.
Fix: pick a different edge or axis for Direction 2.
Fix: add points to the sketch for a Sketch Driven Pattern.
Fix: Split the part first, keep at least one body, insert a different part.
Fix: save the part, then Split it (Bodies drop-down), then Save Bodies.
Why: a feature can't go above what it's built on.
Fix: move it to a place below what it uses.
Fix: pick the frame sketch's lines; avoid very short lines at corners.
Fix: draw a short line between two 90° bends, or use Hem.
Fix: a smaller bend radius, or longer lines.
Fix: move the hole or cut away from the bend line.
Fix: a smaller angle, the other direction, or the other side.
Fix: pick a straight outside edge.
Fix: Sheet Metal ▸ Base Flange/Tab before the other sheet metal tools.
Fix: more teeth or a positive profile shift; a larger module or fewer teeth; a smaller bore.
Fix: Evaluate ▸ Variables: check the name is spelled the same, that the variable exists, and that two variables don't depend on each other. Only numbers, variables, + − * / ** % and math functions are allowed.
Fix: name it like width, hole_d, l2.
Fix: build the base shape first (Extruded Boss/Base), then the command.
Why: two dimensions or relations fight each other. A red one's tooltip says "It fights with: …".
Fix: delete one of them. Select the entity, pick the relation under Existing Relations in the panel, press Delete.
Why: the relation would fight with what's there, so Crusade didn't add it.
Fix: nothing's broken. Delete a relation or dimension that does the same job, then add it.
Fix: a value the sketch can reach (a line can't be longer than the outline allows, for example).
Why: some geometry can still move. That's fine for a feature, but it can shift later.
Fix: add dimensions and relations, or Smart Dimension drop-down ▸ Fully Define Sketch.
Fix: fix the red relations first; then add the last relations by hand.
Fix: select entities that fit (Parallel needs lines, Concentric needs circles or arcs, for example).
Fix: delete or redraw splines; click the piece of a line or arc between two crossings.
Fix: click near a free end of a line or arc that points at another curve.
Fix: delete the length dimension, Equal or Midpoint relation first; split only your own sketch lines.
Fix: move the original geometry, or delete the converted entity and redraw.
Fix: a smaller offset, or offset the other way.
Fix: the third point of an arc or circle must be off the line through the first two.
Fix: select the entities, Ctrl+C, then Ctrl+V.
Fix: Tools ▸ Options ▸ General ▸ Sketch: untick Snap to model edges and earlier sketches while drawing, lower the snap distance (px), or untick Automatic relations.
Why: Construction (Q) with nothing selected applies to the next entity only, then switches off.
Fix: press Q before each construction entity, or select entities and press Q to switch them.
Why: dragging right selects what's fully inside; dragging left also selects what the box touches.
Fix: drag the other way. Ctrl adds to the selection.
Fix: pick a reference plane or a flat face of the part.
Why: two mates ask for things that can't both be true.
Fix: delete or suppress the last mate you added, and check its values and Flip.
Fix: double-click the mate (or right-click ▸ Edit Mate…) and toggle Flip / Aligned.
Fix: pick the kinds of faces or edges the mate needs. The mate panel lists what to click for each type.
Fix: one selection on each part.
Why: the mate couldn't be solved, so it was taken back.
Fix: read the problem; try another mate type or other faces.
Why: the part changed and the face the mate used is gone.
Fix: edit the mate and pick the faces again.
Why: it's fixed, or fully held by its mates.
Fix: Assembly ▸ Fix / Float to float it; suppress a mate to free a direction.
Why: Collision Detection is on and the part hit another one (the faces that meet show red).
Fix: turn Collision Detection off on the Assembly tab.
Why: the part's file was moved, renamed or deleted.
Fix: put the part in the same folder as the assembly (Crusade looks there by name), or right-click it ▸ Replace Part… and pick the file. Use Pack and Go to move a project.
Fix: edit those mates and pick the faces on the new part.
Why: an assembly was inserted into itself (directly or through a subassembly).
Fix: remove that component.
Fix: click the rim (circular edge) of the hole, on the side where the head goes. For a counterbore, click either the counterbore's rim or the hole's rim on its floor.
Why: it's sized from the hole you clicked.
Fix: pick the size by hand in the Insert Fastener panel.
Why: parts overlap (shown in red with their volumes). A press fit or a modeled thread can show up too.
Fix: check those parts' sizes and mates. Use cosmetic threads for fasteners.
Fix: insert components before Clearance Check or Mass Properties.
Why: some parts have no material, so their mass is unknown.
Fix: click Select Them and give those parts a material (open the part, Edit Material).
Fix: let the dialog's suggestion change the center distance, or move the shafts. Pick round faces on two parallel shafts.
Why: the pair works but isn't ideal.
Fix: pick a suggestion higher in the list, more teeth, or a smaller module.
Fix: check the motor's part and axis face, and that the mates connect the moving parts (gear, slot, hinge …). Calculate again after any change.
Fix: Calculate the study first, then Save GIF… to another folder.
Why: the part or assembly it shows can't be found or failed to rebuild.
Fix: open the part and fix it, or put it back where the drawing expects it (same folder, same name).
Why: a drawing points at the part's file.
Fix: let it save the part (or save it yourself), then the drawing is made.
Fix: a BOM needs an assembly view on the sheet.
Fix: click a view that looks straight down the holes (usually Front or Top), then Hole Table.
Fix: one per drawing. File ▸ Release Revision… adds its rows.
Fix: click two points well apart across the view. Try a slightly different line.
Fix: make the section from a view of the bent part.
Fix: click a straight edge in a flat view (not an isometric one).
Fix: Edit ▸ Remove Breaks, then break again; click the ends of the stretch further apart.
Fix: select one flat view (Front, Top, Right) and try again; dimension the rest by hand.
Why: inch drawings keep trailing zeros (ASME: 6.000), metric drawings drop them (6).
Fix: a new drawing takes its units and decimals from Tools ▸ Options ▸ Units (or from the template you pick) when it's made, so set them there before you make the drawing. An existing drawing keeps the ones it was made with.
Why: threads seen at an angle are left out, as is standard.
Fix: nothing needed. To leave thread callouts out of a flat view, untick Thread callouts in View Properties.
Why: Dark Sheet is on (the button at the right end of the ribbon).
Fix: press it again. Prints and PDFs are always white anyway.
Fix: pick a file made with File ▸ Save as Template… (in Documents/Crusade Templates).
Why: the DXF leaves the logo out; the PDF keeps it.
Fix: use the PDF where the logo matters.
Fix: use a PNG or JPG.
Why: Print fits the sheet to the paper.
Fix: pick the paper size in the print dialog to match the sheet (Sheet ▸ Sheet Properties), or export a PDF and print that at 100 %.
Fix: give the part a material, or a custom one in SimpleSim's material box.
Why: the part isn't held enough to stand still.
Fix: add a support, or make one Fixed. The message names the direction it isn't held in.
Fix: add a load to every load case, and place it (⌖, then click).
Fix: pick the axis again, along the part's length. Beam analysis needs a part that's one piece along it.
Fix: model the frame with Structural Member, or analyze as Beam.
Fix: use the plate check only for flat plates of one thickness.
Why: beam theory is approximate for short parts.
Fix: treat the numbers as a rough guide, and test the real part.
Why: real stress near those holes can be 2 to 3 times what's shown.
Fix: allow a much higher factor of safety there.
Fix: allow for a third to two thirds of the strength across the layers; print the part so the load runs along the layers.
Fix: give the custom material a density or thermal expansion.
Fix: stiffen the shaft, shorten the span, or run slower.
Why: it's a strength-of-materials estimate (beam, plate and frame formulas), not FEA. It doesn't model contact, welds, plasticity or dynamics.
Fix: use it to compare designs. Check critical parts properly and test them.
Why: these need a license.
Fix: Help ▸ License.
Fix: Split the part and Save Bodies to print it in pieces, or set your printer's size in Design Check.
Fix: pick another folder, or add a prefix / suffix.
Why: files the document uses are missing.
Fix: find and put those files back (or Replace Part), then pack again.
Fix: the free viewer can't Pack and Go; it can open shared files.
Why: files saved before October 14, 2026 don't have their shapes stored, so the free viewer can't show them.
Fix: the sender opens them in licensed Crusade and saves them once, or uses Tools ▸ Update Files for Sharing….
Why: when Crusade can't reach crusadecad.com (offline, firewall), it reports "Up to date".
Fix: check the internet connection, or download the new version from the Download page.
No. Install the new version over the old one. Documents, settings and the license stay.
Fix: every version stays at crusadecad.com/download/versions. Uninstall Crusade, then install the one you need: uninstalling keeps your settings and license. Keep a copy of your files first: a file saved by a newer version may not open in an older one. And tell support what broke, so it's fixed in the next version.
Fix: Tools ▸ Options. Keyboard shortcuts has Reset all (or right-click one ▸ Reset to default), Appearance has Reset all to theme, and Materials & Finishes has Reset.
Fix: close Crusade and rename the settings folder (%APPDATA%\Crusade on Windows, ~/.config/Crusade on Linux). The first-launch setup runs again. Your documents aren't affected. Note: the license is kept in that folder too. Release this computer first (Help ▸ License ▸ Release This Computer…), then activate again afterward with the same key. Activating again without releasing first takes another of the license's computers (the old place can then be freed from your order page at Lemon Squeezy).
Fix: Tools ▸ Options ▸ Keyboard shortcuts: check for clashes, or Reset all. Make sure the 3D view has the focus (click in it).
Fix: Tools ▸ Options ▸ Appearance ▸ Reset all to theme.
